The Kennel Club
I am back a little earlier than planned due to family commitments, so have taken this opportunity to tell you a little more of what I’ve found out recently.
Whilst in the local a lady walked in with a Shitzu. The guy at the bar said is that a Lhaso Apso, she said no a Shitzu, he sniggered telling us that his mate breeds “them and Lhaso Apso’s”, and what ever the dealer, who buys from him wants, he makes the pedigrees to say. He says he usually had 2 sets per dog, one on one breed one on the other. He said no one knew any way as so many were mixed they were all shapes and sizes. Wow!!! This can not happen? Dumb or what!!
I called the kennel club just before they shut, “how do I register a litter of pups?” I was told basically as long as I have the right info of 2 pedigree parents I pay my fee and Bobs your Uncle!
So you think, I wont buy a pedigree from Wales or it may some where down the line have a spot of some thing else in it, but buy it from say London, from a private home. That may not work as dealers have friends who sell for them from their homes for BIG money pretending it is a home bred pup. They may even have a dog of that breed they claim is the parent, and all the time it’s the same cheaper dog that you could buy from e-pups or the yellow paper down here.
Now the kennel club want to promote responsible dog breeding and the best specimens of the breed possible. BUT they do not know what they are kennel club registering.
· How would it be if only vets registered litters of Micro- chipped pups that were bred from micro- chipped parents, vet certified?
· How would it be if to breed, all dogs had to have a full vet examination and be x-rayed?
· How would it be if the kennel club actually did some good?!!!
I will tell you how it would be, puppy farmers would go out of business. IF the RSPCA spent some of their millions of pounds on ads, educating the public and on how to buy a vet certified pedigree dog this whole dirty trade could be cleaned up!
